About Us

Here at Deep Roots Craftsmen, we truly are craftsmen at heart. Our work is about learning, it’s about growth. It’s about sustainability, community, story-telling, and tradition. It’s about leaving an impact upon the world through our skills, and doing our best to pass down those skills to the next generation. It’s about leaving a space better upon leaving than when we entered, and respecting the people and traditions that came before and that will follow.

Since 2018 we have been completing rewarding projects all across the state of Colorado and teaming up with industry-mates across the country. Our founder, Jon Sargent, brings over a dozen years’ experience in project management, historic preservation, and timber framing and a Master’s in Historic Preservation. We’ve been a part of everything from community weekend projects to large-scale multi-month projects at National Historic Landmark sites. Everything from small renovations to ground-up commercial and residential. We try to approach every job with an open mind, knowing that a little creativity is sometimes all you need to overcome even the largest obstacles.

Some of you may know us as Deep Roots Timberworks. We’ve retained that legal name and will continue to conduct our timber framing and logwork under that name. Different name, same dedicated team.
